SMALL BACKYARDS & BIG IDEAS!

Beginning in her parent’s backyard pool, Leah Morris started offering swim lessons to children when she was just 15 years old. Her clients that first summer were young swimmers who wanted to follow in her footsteps to become an accomplished competitive swimmer. Leah’s high school coaches had instilled in her a deep love for the sport and had generously shared their extensive swimming knowledge with her. Her early years of guided technique centered training and thought-provoking practices helped her achieve personal success and was the motivation behind wanting to become a swim coach. At the time, she didn’t know how far that journey would take her. Happy children and pleased parents quickly spread the word and by the third summer her parent’s pool had become the local hub for summer swimming lessons. Her program continued to grow every summer while she attended college. After graduating Miami University in 2004, she decided to take the plunge and turn her passion for swimming into her professional career path and Liquid Lifestyles was born.

Today, Liquid Lifestyles has grown to become one of the most recognized and premier swim schools in the nation, with over twenty expert coaches in several states. They offer a variety of programs including Private Lessons, Adult Group Classes, Children’s Group Classes, and Nationwide Freestyle Weekend Workshops, providing swimmers of all ages and ability levels with the necessary opportunities and resources to achieve their personal swimming goals.

OUR COACHES SET US APART

We understand that individual learning styles, needs and goals are truly unique and we pride ourselves in our ability to instruct anxious beginners, elite athletes and everyone in between. Our coaches are first and foremost professional educators. Swimming talent alone is not enough to become a Liquid Lifestyles coach. In addition to a deep passion for swimming, all of our coaches are gifted communicators. Every coach has been hand-selected for their extraordinary ability to simplify complex concepts through our proven, process-driven approach. Some are highly accomplished competitive athletes while others were average swimmers who've since mastered the art of efficient technique. But most importantly, all of them are professional educators who collectively have simplified swimming for thousands of swimmers across the country and around the globe.

A PROCESS IS DESIGNED TO SIMPLIFY SWIMMING

Our coaches come from diverse swimming backgrounds; from competitive collegiate athletes, high school and collegiate swim coaches, accomplished triathletes, Ironman® finishers, and adult onset swimmers. These different backgrounds are leveraged to synthesize the best methods to help athletes who weren’t born in the water to become the best swimmers they can be. Our coaches communicate with each other to share methods, strategies and client successes to continually improve our instruction methods. This unique collaboration between experts has built our results driven curriculum that is designed to replace instinct with confidence. We don’t complicate swimming to make us look like experts. We are the experts because we make it simple. Our process is not complicated, and it is not random. There are not drills just for drills sake. Our process is an intelligent step-by-step progression that builds upon the previous skill. Mastering the first drill will set you up for success in the following drill until you are swimming with ease. Helping you master the drill progression is what we are all about. To that end, our instruction is not just a coach on deck barking orders or writing sets on dry erase boards. Our coaches are in the water with our clients providing demonstrations and hands-on feedback for position and timing. We take underwater videos and analyze them with slow motion and frame by frame playback along with the ability to sketch over the video. Clients can see exactly what they are doing correctly and which techniques need improvement. We also use wireless, waterproof headsets to provide instantaneous voice feedback. It is amazing to see how quickly a swimmer can progress when provided with real time technique and stroke corrections from an experienced coach.

The foundation for learning any new skill requires an understanding of the underlying vocabulary and concepts. We spend time in the classroom to define common swim vocabulary and explain fundamental swimming concepts and how they influence each other. Only then do we head to the pool to put those concepts into practice. As we progress through the drill progression we keep these concepts in the forefront of our minds.
