Hello!
I’ve been described as a fun, lovable, goofball that is very down to earth and tries to make everyone smile. I love to be outdoors camping or swimming. I’m currently majoring in Music Education to achieve my dream job as a high school band director. I have lifeguarded in the past as a Boy Scout of America Lifeguard as we trained under the American Red Cross Standards. I have also taught swim lessons since 2019 at other facilities. I’ve taught private music lessons since 2014, ranging from beginners to advanced students. My Teaching Philosophy is: Everyone learns differently, so I present a concept in many different ways. I also want to create a family-friendly environment where every student is comfortable sharing anything they need to with me… whether it is professional or personal.
“All of the coaches are amazing! They all seem to know each child in and around the pool and help each other out even if it’s not their lesson. We have had several coaches over the years and have always been impressed with the quality, skills, kindness and encouragement of each coach. In this case Doug was a perfect fit. He was fun and focused each lesson on the areas where improvement was needed most. He was patient and always encouraged Kellen to do his best and improve. He always went out of his way to be encouraging to his sister as well in a different lesson. We also are very impressed with Henry, Nina and Leah, all who have helped out both our children with lessons, or indirectly.”

“Coach Doug was a miracle worker! I never thought our anxious 7 year old would come so far in just a couple months.”

“Hello! My son, Isaac, had his first swim lesson today with Coach Doug. Isaac is usually a pretty shy kid around unfamiliar adults, but Doug was so warm and kind to him that Isaac had the best time!! Doug also gave Isaac such confidence that I was shocked at how well he did at his first lesson! Isaac kept saying how much fun he had at swim lessons. I am so thankful for Doug and his kind, easy-going personality with my 4 year old! :)”
