I came to swimming a bit late in the game as a 10 year old child.  I had joined a summer swim team that year and decided swimming was the sport for me.  Rather than just dip my toe into things, I next decided to enroll in the powerhouse program, Lake Erie Silver Dolphins, on Cleveland’s eastside and was all-in on swimming through high school.  Competitive swimming gave me an outlet from school and turned me into a more confident, determined person than I would have been otherwise.

After college I was asked by a friend to participate in the Capital of Texas triathlon, and a whole new love affair entered into my life.  Within two years I had completed a host of sprint and Olympic distance races as well as two 70.3 races and Ironman Louisville.  Open water swimming and triathlon gave me new challenges and experiences as well as a supportive community of fitness-minded people.

Now that I am a mother, I have been able to incorporate family time into my swimming practice by developing the curriculum for and coaching the Liquid Lifestyles’ Baby Bubbles program.  Seeing a young toddler gain comfort in the water along side a beaming parent or guardian is truly a special experience.  Seeing children learn to love swimming at a young age not only allows for many fitness opportunities in their future, but also the security of knowing they will be safe for years to come around that water.

I am now in a position where I get to teach the best swim clients in the Cleveland area – infants, children, adults and triathletes.  I have a hard time pointing to one area that I enjoy coaching the most since the Liquid Lifestyles family of programs is so unique, extensive and fun to teach.  Seeing an anxious child or adult conquer their reservations about the deep end of the pool.  Having a triathlete admit they finally enjoy swimming.  Watching a toddler squeal with glee as they enter the pool for their class.  It all makes me smile!

Additionally, I help the Liquid Lifestyles with Community Outreach programs and special projects.  I am truly blessed to have a career teaching what I love and enjoying what I do everyday, all while helping Liquid Lifestyles grow in the surrounding community.
